This pedal has two effects in one box, a clean boost and a distortion circuit.

This Box of Rock simulates Zachary’s favorite amp turned up all the way, a 1966 Marshall® JTM45. The tone control adjusts brightness and there’s a high-headroom low-noise boost.

The Box of Rock is Zvex Effect's first "distortion" pedal, highly specialized to simulate the "everything on 10" sound of a classic Marshall JTM45 non-master-volume amplifier. You may use the Box of Rock effectively with many different amplifiers, but to get the sound Zvex heard when they designed it, try it through a Marshall at least once. You may use your guitar's volume control to adjust for the exact amount of distortion you need, all the way down to very clean and clear with most drive settings.

The Box of Rock also contains an extremely high-headroom, unity-to-50X gain booster with nominal input impedance and low hiss. It is very similar to the SHO boost circuit, with refinements to make it sound more like a standard amp input and less glassy. The boost channel can be used alone or in conjunction with the "distortron engine" channel. The boost channel follows the distortion channel so that the distortion is able to hit your amp harder (at a higher volume) when both switches are engaged, for boosting solos and what-not. -- Look out when boosting "what-not." 8^)

The Controls:
Drive: Sets the amount of distortion. Start around 1:00 o'clock.
Tone: Adjust for treble content. Start around 2:00 o'clock.
Vol: Adjust for distortron engine volume level. Start around 9:00 o'clock.
Boost: Sets the boost level, which is engaged with the left stomp switch. Start around 11:00 o'clock.

The Drive and Boost controls are based on Zvex's original Super Hard-On gain control, so they may crackle when turned. This is perfectly normal.

Operation:
Plug your guitar (or any effect’s output) into the right hand input jack. Plug the output into an amp or other effect’s input. Rock out. Careful with the Boost setting when using a high-powered amp with lots of headroom... you may be shocked at how loud it can get!

The best way to complete this pedal is to run it through a Marshall amplifier on a warm clean setting (try strapping the channels, setting the volumes below 3, and setting all other controls to 6 as a start point), which has the proper voicing to reveal the "rock" in the Box of Rock.

This Vexter Series Box of Rock features UV printed graphics to commemorate Zvex's 25th Anniversary. The parts inside Vexters are identical to the hand painted pedals.

Pedal Dimensions (LxWxH): 4.70" x 2.38" x 1.82"

Absolutely great curved monitor for his PC. Samsung, top of the line can't go wrong!
Size: 32"
Bought this for my son's birthday / Christmas present because they are so close together. I think it was only about three or $400. But it is the Samsung which is a top rate item. And it has a curved screen for better viewing. That's what he wanted so that's what he got! LOL he said it works greatly and you can adjust so many settings such as the brightness the sound and everything else. Good size too! 32 inches that's like a TV screen LOL

Worst interface on the market. A sadist designed it.
Size: 32"
Great screen. The absolute worst interface in the business. Who in their right mind would want their monitor to change inputs on a whim? Who would design a 6 step process to change that input back? Samsung did. I wish I had spent my hard earned money elsewhere. I waste more time fixing this stupid monitor then I do enjoying the games I play on it. It's nightmare fuel.

Smart Features Overkill (for me)
Size: 32"
This monitor arrived promptly and undamaged. The picture quality is excellent, and the refresh rate has my games looking silky-smooth. If it was a normal monitor without smart features, I would give it 5 stars. The smart capabilities make this somewhat obnoxious from time to time. I just had an update (that prompted this review) that had a pop-up box telling me Samsung policies have been updated, but I was unable to dismiss it with my mouse or keyboard. I had to wait for it to time out or use the remote. There are also countdown screens during boot-up and shut-down that can be annoying at times, though to be fair, I have not attempted to disable them. It also occasionally just likes to pop up notifications that aren't from my computer about input or monitor settings (not pc display settings). It's really a pretty small nuisance, but after a few months sometimes has me wishing I had just dropped the cash on a nicer 4k monitor w/out smart capabilities. I would imagine it being quite convenient in a dorm or small apartment setting if you were also using it as a smart tv on a regular basis. Not a bad product by any means, just a few extra bells and whistles that occasionally get in the way of how I typically use it. I picked it up on sale for right around $400 and feel that was fair. If I had to pay more, I would probably make the jump to 4k and shop at that higher price point instead.

Its a TV too!
Size: 32"
I got this monitor for my computer for the most part. Excellent quality Colors are great, no dead pixels on arrival. Bright and easy to see. Comes with a remote which I thought was strange and put it aside for a few months. Then when I found the remote again I played with it and realized this was also a TV!! So for the price it is an amazing gaming monitor and a smart tv on top of that this is great value for the money. The curve may make it difficult to see as a tv if you are in a large space but for what it is made for there is no problem at all. And you can adjust if you do move around the room.

Great Gaming Monitor at an Affordable Price
Size: 32"
Solid Monitor with a high quality image with strong blacks on a VA panel, fantastic 240hz refresh rate, quick response time. Comes with some extra built in UI features and a remote for TV like functions or cloud gaming, which I don't really need, seeing as I am using this exclusively as a PC monitor. But certainly not a downside. Wasn't perfect out of the box, but with a little calibration and optimizing, gaming at 240 FPS looks and feels great. Perfect alongside my old 1440p 144hz monitor as a second monitor, and my new PC. Able to hit those 1440p/240FPS marks with my 7950X3D and 7900XTX GPU. Would recommend at it's current sale price just under $500. If your looking to spend more, consider an OLED option in the $800-1000 range for a screen with comparable specs. Also has Freesync Premium Pro with an effecting range from 60-240FPS for system/titles that are unable to hit that 240hz refresh rate at all times. From my testing this seems most optimal from 120-240 FPS, 60-120 FPS seems a bit less effective. Either way great monitor for the money spent.
